CP2 22.1 miles

Tom is through CP2 in 5:45. He has slowed slightly to just over 16 min/mile pace but is still on track for a comfortable finish time atm.

He is beginning to feel some soreness in his right Achilles, the opposite leg to his sore shin. So he was saying how he has adopted a slightly unusual running style - flat-footed with his left leg to minimise his ACS discomfort in his left shin, and flexing his right ankle a lot to help his right Achilles.

It took him a little while to loosen up after the checkpoint but he got going nicely a little way down the road.

It is lovely to see Stuart again - we use his drive for this checkpoint every year and he pops out to see our runners - he recognised Dave from 2 years ago and is following the blog again this year - this race has become addictive viewing as Tim Welch has also just turned up to say hello!
